Culhane Communications Sports to Broadcast WSC Sports
WSC announces expanded radio coverage for 2009-10 season

Wayne State College Athletic Director Eric Schoh announced today that the Wildcats will have the largest radio coverage area in the school's history through a joint partnership with Culhane Communications, Incorporated, which owns radio stations KVHT-106.3FM and KVTK-AM1570 in Yankton, South Dakota, and Wayne Radio Works LLC, which owns KCTY-104.9FM and KTCH-AM1590 in Wayne. All Wildcat Football games and men’s and women’s basketball games will be carried on either KVHT-FM 106.3, KVTK-AM1570, KTCH-AM1590 or KCTY-104.9 FM in Wayne with KVHT-FM and KVTK-AM serving as the flagship stations for the Wildcat Sports Network. Schoh also announced that Kevin Culhane, President of Culhane Communications, Inc. will be the new “Voice of the Wildcats.”
"We are very excited about forming this network and look forward to the expanded coverage it will give our fans and alumni. With the recent success of our football program, it only makes sense that we would expand the opportunity for people in northeast Nebraska, southeast South Dakota, and northwest Iowa to hear our games. Partnering with these radio stations does that for us, and will no doubt help build the excitement around Wildcat Athletics," Schoh said.
“I’m very pleased to be a part of this new venture for Wildcat Athletics. I look forward to returning to cover Division II Athletics. The NSIC is the finest conference in all of Division II and I look forward to working with Eric. He understands the importance of putting together a quality, professional broadcast for the college and I’m excited to bring Wildcat fans, alumni and listeners in our network coverage area and globally on the Internet just that." said Culhane, who recently spent 11 years as the Voice of the University of South Dakota and has 19 years of experience in broadcasting Division II, NAIA, and high school sports in the area.

Kevin’s experience and passion for sports will be felt by those who listen to WSC athletics on the radio. Whether you’re listening to the game in the tri-state region or to our streamed signal over the internet world wide, you’ll feel like your right there in the stands,” said Kemp.
Head football coach Dan McLaughlin said, "I am excited that Kevin Culhane is going to be the 'Voice of the Wildcats.' Kevin was the radio voice for the USD Coyotes when my son played there, and there isn't a more enthusiastic, more colorful, or better voice in sports radio than Kevin."
In addition to the expanded over-the-air signal, which will cover Southeast South Dakota, Northeast Nebraska and Northwest Iowa Wayne State games will also be available online at www.wscwildcats.com, www.kvht.com, www.waynedailynews.com or in the Wayne area on cable channel 98 (KCTY-FM only).
The Wildcats open the 2009 football season at home against instate rival University of Nebraska at Kearney on Saturday, August 29th at 6 p.m. WSC finished the 2008 season at 9-3, making the NCAA Division II playoffs for the first time in school history.
