11-3pm on Classic Hits 106.3When Brandy finally entered into the world, her father knew right away that he wanted to name her after his favorite song by the band Looking Glass, saving her from being named Alice after Alice Cooper, which is what her mother wanted to name her. Her parents' love for rock n' roll would soon be embedded into Brandy, starting a long and very passionate love for music. When Brandy was a child, most kids would have cartoon time or sesame street time, but not in her household. Instead of sesame street, it was MTV time, especially when Headbangers Ball came on. Brandy has just as much memories if not more of rock videos and cartoons. Every Saturday morning like clockwork, Brandy would be awoken to the loud sounds of Dokken, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, etc. because that was mom's major cleaning day. On boring rainy or wintry days, Brandy would find herself singing into her hair brush to Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne when she was just five. Many many years later Brandy would soon be going off to college, having no clue what she wanted to do with her life. Growing up she always loved performing, mainly singing and dancing. She first majored in Performing Arts but that fire soon burned out. She had a lot of things that she was interested in, but always found herself falling back to music. After taking some much needed time off from school, she soon had her epiphany while watching School of Rock. She realized if she can't be on the stage, she'll work behind the scenes, and soon started to pursue her career to work in promotions for concerts and bands. Brandy started school again at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE and graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in Music Business, then at the very last minute decided to transfer to Wayne State College in Wayne, NE, where she would then have her very first taste of working in radio. What she loved the most about it was being in control of the music and giving people a good time through the tunes, and she now has a Bachelors Degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Mass Media Communications. Brandy is originally from Milbank, SD and is very excited to now be a resident of Yankton. The parents who started it all are Jim and Bonnie. Brandy has one younger brother, James, his wife Sloan and their beautiful daughter Harlo. Brandy is very happy and honored to be working for Classic Hits 106.3, and hopes that she will succeed in giving you a good time through the music. Keep on Rockin!!
