Turner County Fair begins; Lake Yankton to start anew
Parker will play host to the always-popular Turner County Fair starting tonight, with a wide range of grandstand attractions and a full carnival with great rides. Make-A-Wish raises nearly $30,000 in Vermillion
South Dakota Make-A-Wish Foundation hosted its dinner and auction July 23 in Vermillion and raised more than $29,000 for the cause. It'll continue raising money Saturday with a motorcycle ride-through event. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and a street dance follows. Learn more or sign up.

Designs unveiled for Yankton Collector Well

Bonus program seeks to pay South Dakota veterans
Officials are hoping to get the word out widely to all South Dakota veterans about a financial bonus program for which they may be eligible. Veterans of the Gulf War or the wars in Afghanistan or Iraq may be eligible, according to John Fette who oversees the program in Pierre.
