DESCRIPTION:Join author Colleen O’Brien for a discussion about her debut fiction book\, Baited. O’Brien willdiscuss growing up in Yankton\, grizzly bears\, writing and reading at the Yankton CommunityLibrary on Saturday\, November 8\, at 10:00 AM.O’Brien’s debut novel Baited is a whodunit mystery set in Glacier National Park the summer ofthe grizzly bear DNA study. A trail crew worker goes to roust her buddy and finds his tentshredded. The park service launches a search and rescue and uncovers a series of misdeeds andbetrayals. Told from multiple points of view representing Glacier Park’s eclectic east sidecommunity\, Baited grapples with personal loss\, the controversy surrounding grizzly bears andhow to reconcile our love and affection for a person who has committed a reprehensible act.O’Brien earned her MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Montana. She taught Englishat Blackfeet Community College in Browning\, MT and worked summers for the park service forseveral years. Her stories and essays have appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies.She and her husband own and operate small businesses in the hamlet of East Glacier Park\, MT.She lives with her family near Glacier Park.Baited will be available for purchase at the event.
