DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 19th from 5:30 PM – 7 PM\, it’s time to fish with the Yankton Community Library and Missouri National Recreational River. It’s a fishing clinic for tweens and teens in grades 4-12 (teens must be under the age of 18 OR have a valid fishing license). This clinic is free but registration is required.  At the start of the program\, teens will learn some best practices for fishing while doing some catch and release fishing. All fishing supplies as well as a light snack will be provided. Teens and tweens can register at the library front desk or online.

DESCRIPTION:If you’ve ever wanted to learn some magic tricks you can try at home\, magician Jonathan May will be at the Yankton Community Library on Monday\, June 30 at 4 PM for a workshop that will teach youth simple yet amazing magic tricks with common items that can be found around the house. While this program is free\, registration is required and open to youth in kindergarten through 5th grade. Supplies to bring to the workshop include: deck of cards\, coin\, unsharpened pencil\, handkerchief or bandana\, a small box of crayons\, and a short string (12 inches or so; cooking or ‘butcher’ string\, or yarn will also work). DESCRIPTION:The Vermillion Public Library is hosting the 7th annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on Wednesday\, July 23rd at 6 PM at Prentis Plunge. Participants can build boats from home or at the library during designated boat-building workshops the week before the event begins. Everyone is welcome to join\, and the library will provide a limited supply of materials to help build your boats. Boat check-in will start at 5:30 PM on race day. After the race\, join for both a picnic and an awards ceremony at the North Picnic Shelter across from the Trinity Lutheran Church once the races have finished!
