DESCRIPTION:NATIONAL MUSIC MUSEUM EVENTS in chronilogical order!!! \n  \nFriday\, March 6\nNoon\nNational Music Museum\, Vermillion\, SD \nFor over three decades\, pianist Luis Sanchez has maintained an active career as soloist\, collaborative artist\, and teacher. He has appeared in concerts in the United States\, South America\, Europe\, and Asia. He is currently Professor of Piano and Director of Keyboard Studies at Texas A&M University-Commerce. Dr. Sanchez joined the Steinway Artist Roster in 2012. In May 2021\, he joined the Frances Clark Center for Piano Pedagogy as Director of International Initiatives. \nHe has been a frequent presenter at the Texas Music Teachers Association Convention\, Music Teachers National Association\, the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society Conclaves\, the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities\, and national and regional College Music Society conferences. Dr. Sanchez has served as an adjudicator for numerous competitions and festivals\, throughout the United States and internationally. \nEqually at home with the fortepiano and the modern piano\, Dr. Sanchez pursued further studies in fortepiano and XVIII century performance practice with Malcolm Bilson\, Andrew Willis\, and Liv Glaser (Oslo\, Norway).  In 2012\, he was commissioned to write an article on Phil Belt (American builder of fortepianos) for the New Grove Dictionary of American Music and Early Music America. \nBorn in Argentina\, Dr. Sanchez holds degrees from the National Conservatory of Music “Carlos López Buchardo” and Ball State University.  His teachers include Ana Litovsky-Grunwald\, Graciela Beretervide\, Robert Palmer\, and Rebecca Penneys. \nThis event will also be livestreamed at https://www.nmmusd.org/nmm-live-video \n————————————————————————————————– \nFriday\, April 17\nNoon\nNational Music Museum\, Vermillion\, SD \nTjärnblom\, Swedish for “woodland lake flower”\, is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of nyckelharpa\, octave mandolin\, harmonium and cello.  They travel a musical journey along “Snoose Boulevard\,” playing a repertoire of old and new Swedish\, Finnish\, and Minnesota tunes for dancing and for listening.  They’ve performed across the state of Minnesota and have appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion show. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday and Sunday January 23rd and 24th gun vendors will have tables packed end-to-end with thousands of firearms related items at the Yankton Archery Center.  If you want to buy\, sell\, trade\, or just look at items related to the shooting industry this is the show to go to.  Admission: $10 \n  \n·     The DTGCA is a non-profit organization \n  \n·     It contributes to the understanding\, use\, and management of the shooting industry. \n  \n·     The DTGCA hosts a series of gun shows throughout the upper Midwest allowing United States’ citizens to exercise their 2nd amendment privilege. \n  \n·     The gun show vendors come from all over the Midwest \n  \n·     They fill hundreds of tables at each gun show with thousands of items \n  \n·     They display: modern and heirloom firearms\, long guns\, handguns\, ammunition\, targets\, hunting knives\, gun safes\, military equipment\, shooting sport gear and literature. \n  \n·     Show attendees are invited to bring in their own items (unloaded guns) for sale or trade \n  \n·     The vendors are knowledgeable about guns and gear and can be excellent resources for information about old and new equipment.  So\, bring your questions along with your items \n  \n·     The DTGCA supports youth and donates to organizations that instruct school age children on the proper use and responsibilities associated with firearms.
