KVHT 106.3 FM is a 50,000 watt regional station featuring Classic Hits of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.  Artists include the Eagles, Bob Seger, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton.  Our Personalities are upbeat and family friendly.  They’re really into the music they play and connect with the listeners in a large age demographic.

We totally ROCK…just not too hard. Well, maybe a little hard once in a while! 

KVHT 106.3 FM also provides play-by-play coverage of the Yankton High School Bucks and Gazelles and is the flagship station for University of South Dakota Athletics.  Our loyal core audience of both male and female demographics consists of both male and female listeners in the moderate to high income levels.  Our listeners rely on hearing the latest news, weather and community information by experienced broadcasters first on KVHT 106.3 FM.

5 Star Communications, Inc. owns two of the few locally owned and operated radio stations left in South Dakota….KVHT or better known as Classic Hits 106.3 FM and ESPN Radio 1570 KVTK.  Between the two radio stations, 5 Star Communications covers 48 counties in a 4 state region, comprised of over 350,000 people.  The reach of our two stations included the communities of Yankton, Vermillion, Sioux Falls and Fort Randall in South Dakota – Sioux City Iowa as well as communities in Northeast Nebraska.  As you can see, we have a large trade area that can captivate many listeners.

5 Star Communications community involvement is very extensive.  Raising hundred’s of thousand’s of dollars for a variety of projects.  The employees at 5 Star Communications are also extensively involved in a number of civic and community organizations in communities of Yankton, Beresford, Vermillion, Tyndall and Hartington, Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.  We have employees that belong to Local Rotary and Optimists clubs and work closely with many foundations including United Way, March of Dimes, Make A Wish Foundations, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Boy Scouts, MS Society and a host of other groups, clubs and organizations.  5 Star Communications also is the co-sponsor of “Christmas Trees” for needy families.  All of these projects help under privileged children, adults and families.  5 Star Communications is the ONLY media outlet in our coverage area to do so.

4. Recruitment sources and other techniques that 5 Star Communications Inc. will utilize to attract qualified job applicants include:
• We will maintain a paid membership to the South Dakota Broadcasters Association to have access to employment bank, and have the ability to post job openings at KVHT-KVTK Radio Stations
• We will maintain a relationship with the University of South Dakota Mass Communications Department in order to have access to the department to post job openings and internships
• We will maintain a relationship with The Native American Studies Department at the University of South Dakota in order to post job openings or internships
• We will maintain a relationship with the Public Relations Director at Mt. Marty College in Yankton South Dakota in order to post job openings and internships at KVHT-KVTK Radio Stations.
• We will maintain a relationship with South Dakota Career Center in order to post job openings.
• We will maintain a relationship with Yankton & Vermillion High Schools, as well as other High schools in the listening area including giving tours to students, offer internships, and invite schools to send interested individuals to our stations to be on the air during a program we call Class Days.
• We will air 30-second messages on KVHT-KVTK Radio stations telling potential qualified applicants of jobs that are available. The content of said messages is as follows:
